I know it has been awhile, more than six months since I have written anything, but I am going to try and catch everyone up on my travels since Russia over the next couple of months, but first I will share those stories and impressions that didn't make it onto the blog during the semester, most likely because it was being graded on it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to bash Russia now that I have safely escaped her clutches. I am fully aware that Putin's reach can easily extend across the Atlantic, but likewise, I don't have anything that scathing and politically charged to say that would necessitate such an action (although it would give me a great sense of accomplishment if Putin were to deem me a threat). Rather, I'm going to take the time to share photos, memories, and further juxtaposition of the culture, people, films, and possibly the literature if I can finish a book and have a decent enough understanding of the story (I've never been able to keep the characters straight - Alexei Alexandrovich vs Alexei Kirillovich; Sergei Alexeich vs Sergei Ivanovich...).
Seeing as I recently rediscovered my tractor-shaped jumpdrive courtesy of Claas, a German farm equipment company, I figure I'll share this to get things started, also because the probability of me losing it again in the near future is relatively high. Anyway, this is a video we (French Maxim, Russian Inna, and American Marie and I) made as part of our communications course while we were there. I know it's not some great cinematic work, but it consumed a large portion of our lives, well for a week at least. Enjoy!
